Director | Bilal Lashari

Bilal Lashari is a prominent Pakistani filmmaker, cinematographer, and screenwriter credited with modernizing the country's cinema. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco before returning to Pakistan, where he gained fame for directing award-winning music videos. Lashari made his feature directorial debut with the stylized action-thriller Waar (2013), which shattered local box office records. He further solidified his status with the epic action-drama The Legend of Maula Jatt (2022), the highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time. In 2024, he received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his contributions to the industry.
